This past week was quiet operationally out at the DATA Farm. On February 2nd Ty Ty Ag sent a TerraGator sprayer out to apply 18-0-0-3 liquid fertilizer at a rate of 50lbs N per acre to North Pivot and West Field. This rate was determined based on the UGA Rye Info Sheet. The nutrient application will stimulate growth of cereal rye to produce a thicker cover crop. The ryegrass in Front Field and South Pivot continues to show response to the nitrogen application on January 18th. Figures 1 & 2 are NDVI maps from drone flights before and after the application to show this response. minimized damage to the ryegrass and only created ruts in one soft spot of the Front field.
The ABAC team is finalizing the soil report, which will be sent out soon. The next step will be with UGA specialists to determine a fertility plan for the upcoming crops.
