Motivation

  • Precision agriculture, in general, and autonomy, in particular, have become increasingly reliant upon accurate GNSS. 
  • Recent marketing strategies employ subscription-based fees for agricultural technology.
  • Most valuation of precision agriculture focuses on profitability, while ignoring quality of life benefits and human effort costs.

Proposed Solution

  • Estimate value of GNSS outage duration forecast, e.g., nowcast, at national scale for relevant crops.
  • Develop web dashboard-deployed interactive models to assess multiple pass harvest, subscription fees, and GNSS outages.
  • Estimate baseline view of quality-of-life implications and required human capital to use various technology via surveying stakeholders.

Results to Date

An interactive dashboard has been developed for developers, manufactures, and operators to enter their own parameters to compare optimal scenarios.
